12th August 2008, Svenja&Dana: We ♥ Maori Music!!! When we had our introduction week in Auckland we went together with all internationals to the Museum of Maori Culture where we watched a show of Maori dancing and singing, it was so great:) There we got in touch with this kind of making music for the first time and were so impressed also by the way they moved to the melody which carries so much culture und feeling in it. Afterwards we went into the gift shop and looked for a CD with this great music but it was so expensive that we decided to wait until we get it somewhere cheaper. So we find both a great one here in Kamo at the book shop with a lot of Maori Hakas but also love songs. Especially the quiet songs are wonderful to relax. We copied it and sent it home to our families to give them a little impression about our lifes here:)
I dont know mch about nz music, but i think tiki tanae is one of the most famous singers( one of his hits is "you re always on my mind")
